I have written features for four of our magazines so far. Six magazines come out each school year, but my class period only produces three of the six. To view the pages better, click on the headlines or spreads to be redirected to the online magazine.
This issue focused on local history, and I had recently learned about a nearby movie theater that only plays vintage films, so I chose the Stanford Theatre as the subject for my feature.
I wrote this article as an exploration of San Francisco's Chinatown and its history. My favorite part was getting to hear everybody's stories and life experiences.
The theme of this magazine issue was luck for March, so I decided to explore the addiction and draw of the lottery. I interviewed an addiction therapist, who gave me great insight into the problems.
A classmate and I each wrote one long article and two shorter informational pieces to assemble for the cover story. I wrote the blurbs about the 1969 Moon Landing and Flat Earth as well as the closing feature on the influence of conspiracy theories.
